Oberaudorf – Two traffic lights in the Brünnsteinhaus's guest rooms have been measuring carbon dioxide levels in the air since this summer and provide a visual warning when the air quality deteriorates. This reminds employees and guests to ventilate regularly. "A sensible approach for occupational safety is also good for guests indoors," says Wolfgang Schabus, the developer of the traffic lights.
It's been known for a long time that rooms used by several people at the same time require a regular supply of fresh air. In the current situation, the use of guest rooms and their air quality are naturally becoming even more of a focus. The installation was originally planned for last winter season. This was rescheduled for spring when it was announced that operations at the Brünnsteinhaus could resume and at least overnight guests could stay inside. Even after the current permission to reopen indoor dining, the traffic lights remain an integral part of the guest room and the gazebo, because good air quality is always important. On the first weekends of the summer season, hut owner Sepp Tremml observed that guests themselves opened the windows in the gazebo to air out the evenings after the traffic lights had changed to yellow-green. This demonstrates that the traffic lights are the right decision for the Brünnsteinhaus.
