Scope of delivery
A burst hose, an overflowing sink, or water seeping into the basement â ââsmall causes, big damage. The SHT 240 plug-in water detector is the simple and reliable solution for precisely these situations: As soon as its sensor detects soil moisture, the device emits a loud audible alarm and the LED flashes visibly red .
Once the sensor is dry again, the signal automatically stops and the display returns to green . Manual resetting is not necessary, saving time and providing peace of mind.
Commissioning is extremely simple:
The water detector is plugged into a free socket, the sensor is placed near the floor â done.

The SHT 240 with fork sensor is designed for use in regularly dry areas â e.g., in laundry rooms under washing machines or other appliances, in utility rooms, or on floor surfaces.
It is not suitable for permanently humid environments such as shafts, tanks, or containers. For applications with a minimum water level of 4 cm, we recommend the SHT 241 with mini float switch .
The included sensor cable is sufficient in many cases. However, if the sensor needs to be mounted further away from the device, the cable can be extended up to 50 meters:
đ Sensor cable: 2.8 m (extendable up to 50 m)
The cable length can be extended to up to 50 meters â provided the cross-section is a maximum of 2 Ă 0.14 mmÂČ .
Important:
The existing cable must be cut and connected with terminals.
On request, Elektrotechnik Schabus also supplies prefabricated special lengths â simply contact technical support.

The cables used are flame-retardant, low-adhesion, self-extinguishing and largely resistant to oils, greases, coolants and lubricants â but only temporarily waterproof .
