💧 Water alarm in seconds – be on the safe side with the SHT 240

A burst hose, an overflowing sink, or water seeping into the basement – ​​small causes, big damage. The SHT 240 plug-in water detector is the simple and reliable solution for precisely these situations: As soon as its sensor detects soil moisture, the device emits a loud audible alarm and the LED flashes visibly red .

Once the sensor is dry again, the signal automatically stops and the display returns to green . Manual resetting is not necessary, saving time and providing peace of mind.

⚙️ Quickly installed – ready to use

Commissioning is extremely simple:
The water detector is plugged into a free socket, the sensor is placed near the floor – done.

Typical locations are:

Thanks to the integrated signal generator, the alarm sounds directly from the device – loud enough to be heard even through doors.

⚠️ Instructions for use:
The SHT 240 with fork sensor is designed for use in regularly dry areas – e.g., in laundry rooms under washing machines or other appliances, in utility rooms, or on floor surfaces.

It is not suitable for permanently humid environments such as shafts, tanks, or containers. For applications with a minimum water level of 4 cm, we recommend the SHT 241 with mini float switch .

🔧 Flexible sensor cable – even over long distances

The included sensor cable is sufficient in many cases. However, if the sensor needs to be mounted further away from the device, the cable can be extended up to 50 meters:

📏 Sensor cable: 2.8 m (extendable up to 50 m)
The cable length can be extended to up to 50 meters – provided the cross-section is a maximum of 2 × 0.14 mm² .

Important:

• The existing cable must be cut and connected with terminals.

• On request, Elektrotechnik Schabus also supplies prefabricated special lengths – simply contact technical support.

🧪 Line: LIYY control line
The cables used are flame-retardant, low-adhesion, self-extinguishing and largely resistant to oils, greases, coolants and lubricants – but only temporarily waterproof .

⚠️ Safety note: The LIYY cables must never be laid parallel to 230 V mains cables to avoid interference and safety risks.
