Robust dirt trap made of stainless steel mesh with plastic lid, V2A mounting bracket and PG screw connection – ideal for mounting SCHABUS mini float switches in areas with heavy dirt ingress or outdoors.

🌿 Reliable protection against dirt and small animals

The dirt trap reliably protects the float switch from floating twigs, leaves, or grass that could block the mechanism. It also keeps frogs, snails, or mice that might accidentally activate the switch away.

There is sufficient space in the lower area for washed-in sediments , which are thus kept away from the float – for permanently reliable function even under demanding conditions.

💨 Well thought-out design against buoyancy

Two small holes are integrated into the plastic lid to prevent the formation of air bubbles – this means that the float stays in place even when mounted hanging without a bracket and does not float up accidentally .

⚠️ Important note on water quality

The dirt trap is not suitable for use in chlorinated or salty water . Pool water, seawater, or saltwater cisterns can attack the stainless steel surface and lead to corrosion.

🧩 Compatibility

Whether for residential or commercial use, the dirt trap basket is a perfect accessory for all mini plastic float switches from Elektrotechnik Schabus – which are used, for example, as individual float switches for the SHT 5000, SHT 5001, or SHT 5002 water detectors, or are permanently installed on many water detectors. For water detectors with a permanently installed float switch, the cable must be disconnected for installation in the dirt trap basket.
