The high-quality PG cable glands are optimally matched to the SHT 5000 water detector from Elektrotechnik Schabus. They ensure a largely watertight cable entry and offer improved strain relief directly at the connection terminals in the device.

💧 More safety against moisture & dirt

In contrast to the standard SHT 5000 fittings with simple self-sealing nipples, the PG screw connections offer significantly better protection against the ingress of moisture, dust, or dirt . This makes them ideal for use in humid environments or outdoors.

🧩 Ideal for all cable types on the device

The size and number of PG cable glands are precisely matched to the connection areas of the SHT 5000 – suitable for:

  • Sensor cables (e.g. mini float switches)

  • Power supply

  • Cables to the potential-free relay output

🔧 Strain relief directly on the device

By firmly screwing the cables into the PG screw connections , strain relief is achieved at the internal screw terminals of the SHT 5000 – without the need to separately fasten the cables to the wall or in the cable duct.

💡 Tip:

Retrofitting the PG cable glands is particularly useful if the water detector is not installed on the wall , but in a humid environment or if the cables are subject to mechanical stress.

🔌 Why use PG cable glands instead of crimp fittings? PG cable glands offer a significantly better seal against moisture and a stable strain relief of the lines. In contrast to simple choke nipples, they increase operational safety - especially in damp or mechanically stressed environments.

🛠️ Is there anything I need to consider when retrofitting? No, the PG screw connections are fits precisely to the openings of the SHT 5000 coordinated. They can easily be installed in place of the factory-installed choke nipples - tools are only required for cable assembly.

💧 Does the PG screw connection make the SHT 5000 waterproof? The screw connection itself is largely waterproof, so it reliably protects against moisture ingress on the cable. However, the case of the SHT 5000 is not completely waterproof – The installation should therefore always be flood-free take place.

📏 For which cables are PG fittings suitable? The cable glands are ideal for the Sensor cables (e.g. mini float switch), den Power connection and the Relay output of the SHT 5000. The sizes are precisely tailored to this application.
