The KDS 210 cable exhaust air control with DIBt approval ensures the safe operation of exhaust air systems by monitoring the window position and transmitting the information via the control cable to the built-in receiver. The magnetic switch on the window reliably detects whether the window is tilted or open. Only when the window is open can fresh air flow in, preventing dangerous negative pressure that could draw toxic carbon monoxide from combustion chambers into the room.

The adapter plug receiver is simply placed between the wall outlet and the extractor hood's power plug. As soon as the window is opened, it automatically releases the power supply to the fan. A power plug lock prevents accidental reconnection.

Operation with second window (OR operation):
You have the option of using a second window with an additional cable magnetic switch KMS 098K22 (item 300743). In this case, at least one window must be open for the exhaust air system to operate.

The KDS 210 includes a cable break protection device (10 kOhm resistor) integrated into the supplied cable magnetic switch. If the KDS 210 is not used with the original cable magnetic switch, but with an integrated switch contact on the window, the following must be observed: To maintain the cable break protection, you must connect the supplied 10 kOhm resistor in parallel with the normally open contact, as shown in the connection example.

The KDS 210 cable exhaust control ensures that your exhaust system (e.g., extractor hood) can only be switched on when a window is open. A wired magnetic window switch detects the window position and transmits the signal to the receiver, which activates the exhaust system.

What happens if the window is closed while the hood is running?
In this case, the receiver interrupts the power supply to the exhaust system. The hood shuts down or can no longer be operated – this serves to protect against negative pressure and dangerous exhaust backflow.

Can the system also be used with multiple windows?

Does the KDS 210 exhaust air control fit every extractor hood?
Yes – it's suitable for all appliances that are powered by a power plug. The extractor hood is simply plugged into the wall socket via the adapter (receiver). The cable is connected to the magnetic window switch.

How is the transmitter attached to the window?
The transmitter and magnet are mounted directly to the window frame and sash using the included screws. The included spacers allow for height adjustment between the window frame and sash. Please ensure that the distance between the transmitter and the magnet is a maximum of 5 mm; ideally, 1-2 mm.

Can I install the system myself or do I need an electrician?
The transmitter is easy to install yourself. The receiver plugs into the wall outlet without any electrical installation—no electrician required.

What is the difference between a built-in receiver and a plug-in receiver?
TheBuilt-in receiver (KDS 110 | KDS 116)is permanently integrated into the power line of the extractor hood.

The additional magnetic window switch is mounted on the window like the first one. Both switches operate in parallel.

Can the control cable be extended?

You can extend the cable already pre-assembled on the KDS 210 with any 2-wire cable up to about 25 meters(LIYY control cable, sold by the meter, article 300780)When ordering in our shop, you can also specify the desired cable length directly, and we will then manufacture this custom-made cable especially for you. Please add the LIYY cable in the desired length to your shopping cart. Please allow up to three days for additional delivery time; special lengths cannot be ordered through wholesalers for logistical reasons.

Can I use the contact installed by the window manufacturer in my frame for the KDS?
You can do this if it's a normally open contact. A normally open contact is closed when the window is closed. Connect the included 10kΩ cable break resistor in parallel at the connection point between the KDS cable and the contact cable.
