The GX-D500P CO2 alarm detector is a professional warning device with pre-set alarm thresholds of 1.5% CO2 for a pre-alarm and 3.0% CO2 for a main alarm. Its application is versatile, allowing it to monitor air in thermally demanding environments, from particularly cold spaces such as refrigerated beverage dispensing systems and dry ice storage for vaccination centers to particularly warm and hot spaces. This is made possible by an intake system that extends and connects the monitored space with a thick-walled silicone hose.
The alarm threshold, which is clearly perceptible both audibly and visually, was deliberately set high to prevent false alarms from poor indoor air quality caused by human exhaled CO2, while still allowing for immediate and reliable detection of defects in technical systems. The precise values are based on the specifications of the technical guidelines for beverage dispensing systems in the hospitality industry.
Include your professional association and the trade supervisory authority in your planning prior to installation to ensure that nothing stands in the way of subsequent acceptance. There are significant regional differences over which Elektrotechnik Schabus has no influence.
In the event of an alarm, a potential-free changeover relay (230 V AC / 5 A) switches, which can, for example, activate forced ventilation or close magnetic shut-off valves. Another potential-free changeover relay (60 V DC / 5 A) switches in the event of technical faults detected by the device itself, thus informing the building management system, for example. In monitoring mode, both relays are energized and de-energized in the event of an alarm/fault.
A large, illuminated 2x16-character display continuously provides information about the currently measured CO2 level and, when scrolled through using the SERVICE button, provides further status messages from the device. This includes monitoring temperatures inside the device, counting alarms, displaying an error code in the event of technical malfunctions, and recording the CO2 concentration in ppm during the last alarm.
The GX-D500P is designed for vertical, permanent installation on a wall, ideally next to the door that provides access to the monitored room, allowing for information about the CO2 concentration inside before entering the room. The hose exits the bottom of the device and should only be routed through the wall after at least 100 cm to allow any particularly high or low temperatures to acclimatize to those of the device. With a one-meter hose, temperatures from -30°C to +70°C can be measured, and with a two-meter hose, even from -70°C to +120°C can be measured. An optional dust filter (item no. 300259) is available for particularly dusty environments.
With the optionally available USB calibration adapter cable (item 200340), the user can perform a zero point calibration of the sensor regularly or as needed, as every sensor is subject to natural drift. The preset range of the warning thresholds is always maintained and can only be changed at the factory.
