GX-H2 – External hydrogen gas sensor for technical applications

The GX-H2 from Elektrotechnik Schabus is an external sensor for detecting hydrogen (H₂) in dry indoor spaces. It was specifically developed as an accessory for the GX-A1+ and GX-HS gas detectors and can be easily and safely integrated into the existing Schabus warning system via an RJ-45 connector. In combination with these devices, the GX-H2 enables reliable monitoring for hydrogen leaks – for example, in charging areas of battery rooms, technical systems, or research facilities where H₂ is used.

Hydrogen is a highly flammable gas and, due to its small molecular size, particularly volatile. Escaping hydrogen tends to collect under the ceiling because it is significantly lighter than air. Therefore, early and targeted detection is essential to quickly identify technical defects or leaks and initiate appropriate measures.

The sensor is only suitable for dry, non-explosive rooms. It is not EX-certified and therefore must not be used in areas with potentially explosive atmospheres. Furthermore, it should not be exposed to high concentrations or pure greenhouse gases for long periods of time, as this will reduce sensitivity and may affect the sensor's service life.

With its easy integration, compact design and clearly defined application limits, the GX-H2 offers a reliable solution for monitoring hydrogen-carrying systems in non-hazardous indoor areas.

A notice:
Frequent and high gas concentrations will reduce the sensor's sensitivity over time and shorten its lifespan. Never expose the sensor to pure greenhouse gases!

Extending the connecting cable The sensor's connecting cable can be extended. The following minimum cross-sections apply depending on the cable length: Cable cross-section 3 x 1.5 mm²: maximum length 10 m Cable cross-section 3 x 0.75 mm²: maximum length 20 m We recommend using our LIYY control cable (item 300780) to extend the sensor cable.
