Professional tip for our float switches

The SCHABUS float switches are designed for currents of max. 500 mAmpere.
If you use our float switches to switch an installation contactor, the high inrush currents overload the reed contact in the switch.

However, this situation is easy to fix: with an additionally installed freewheeling diode 1N 4007 (article number 200208) this error can be avoided.

A freewheeling diode is a diode that is reverse biased by the supply voltage and connected in parallel with the relay's inductor. These diodes prevent voltage spikes that occur when a relay is turned off.
