Professional tip about our float switches

The SCHABUS float switches are designed for currents of max. 500 mAmpere.
If you use our float switches to switch an installation contactor, the high inrush currents will overload the reed contact in the switch.

However, this situation is easy to remedy: with an additionally installed free-wheeling diode 1N 4007 (article number 200208), this error can be avoided.

A freewheeling diode is a diode that is stressed by the supply voltage in the reverse direction and is connected in parallel with the induction coil of the relay. These diodes prevent voltage peaks that occur when a relay is switched off.

This concerns all our float switches article number 200940, 200938, 200941, 200939, 300941, 300939, 200950 and 200949
